Force uninstall on Windows

Sometimes the built-in uninstaller crashes, disappears from Settings, or leaves the app half-removed. A force uninstall removes the program by targeting its files and registry traces directly. Use it when normal uninstall is not reliable, not as the default for every app.

Before you start

Recommended workflow with HiBit Uninstaller

  1. Open HiBit and locate the program in the installed list.
  2. Try standard uninstall first when an uninstaller still exists.
  3. If that fails, use Force Uninstall and let the tool remove known paths and registry entries tied to the product.
  4. Run the leftover scan and review each item; remove only entries clearly belonging to the app.
  5. Reboot if the tool suggests a restart to release locked files.

Safety tips

Do not bulk-delete unrelated registry keys. Prefer app-specific uninstall traces over generic “cleanup everything” behavior. Keep session backups enabled when the product offers registry backup, so you can restore if something critical was removed by mistake.
