Remove leftover files and registry entries
Uninstallers often miss folders under %ProgramFiles%, %AppData%, and ProgramData, plus registry keys for context menus, services, or auto-start. Cleaning those leftovers frees space and reduces conflicts when you delete the right items.
Where leftovers usually hide
- Application folders with the vendor or product name.
- User-specific data in Roaming and Local app data.
- Scheduled tasks and startup entries that relaunch removed software.
- Leftover services or drivers after security or VPN software.
What not to remove blindly
Shared Visual C++ runtimes, .NET components, and common frameworks may still be required by other apps. If a key or folder name is vague, research it before deletion or keep backups.
Using HiBit Uninstaller
After uninstall, accept the advanced scan for leftovers. Review the list line by line, remove entries tied to the uninstalled product, and use built-in backup/restore for registry changes when available.
